Kia ora tātou
Birthright New Zealand is really proud to be participating in Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2021 nationally with our staff, as well as those who we support within the local community.
Our Birthright teams all around New Zealand are delighted to be using some of the fantastic resources provided by a range of amazing providers with our whanau to discover te reo.
When we teach our people to speak te reo, they will discover their lineage, their whakapapa, their story.
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, engari kē he toa takitini: Our success should not be bestowed onto me alone, it was not individual success but the success of a collective.
This whakatauki acknowledges team effort, that one’s success is due to the support and contribution of many. Just as it takes a village to raise a child, it takes community/a team to enable individual successes. Birthright want to recognise the support of many who we collaborate with on a daily basis to support the needs of whanau.
Whether you are a beginner or at an advanced level, the most important thing is to have fun on your te reo journey!
We will be uploading more pictures from across our regions showing how we are celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori for our people and those who we support within the community, so keep coming back!
